Football is clearly the number one sport in Swaziland - it is
played all around the country and is the main topic of discussion in
coffee houses and on the street.
The fifth African U-17 Championship was held in Swaziland in 2003, and was a resounding success. From a sporting point of view, the greatest success came in 2002, when the U-16 national team won the Dana Cup in Denmark. The senior national team also reached the semi-finals of the COSAFA (confederation of South African football associations) Cup in 2002 and gained eight points during qualifying for the 24th African Cup of Nations 2004 (Group 9 with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Libya and Botswana). On 8 June 2008 they achieved their first win in a World Cup qualifier since 1992, beating 2006 finalists Togo 2-1 on home soil. (FIFA.com & Wikipedia.com) ACHIEVEMENTS
