AFRICAN U-20 CHAMPIONSHIP 2011

The 2011 African Youth Championship was a football tournament for Under 20 players. It was due to be held in Libya from the 18th March to 1st April, but after political unrest in the region, the confederation decided to moved the tournament to South Africa and was played from 17 April to 2 May 2011. The Championship acted as a qualifier for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Nigeria won the tournament, their sixth AYC title in history, beating Cameroon 3-2 after extra time in the final.
