Cameroon international Aurelien Chedjou is looking to leave French side Lille this summer and has opened the door for a possible move to the Premier League.

The 27-year-old has been linked with Galatasaray, Newcastle and Liverpool but has stated he will be deciding his future in the next couple of weeks.

"Nothing is done with any club. Yes, I want to move from Lille and get another experience of my life," said Chedjou.

The prospect of playing in the Premier League is one that excites Chedjou.

Asked about the possibility of joining Liverpool to replace the recently retired Jamie Carragher, Chedjou says it would be a great opportunity.

Brave Warriors coach Roger Palmgren said Namibia’s players’ fitness levels were a disgrace when he announced the squad that will play Zambia in a friendly match at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday.

Palmgren said the fitness levels of the players needed to improve drastically.

“The players underwent a fitness test (by a biokineticist) at the end of March and the results were a disgrace. The fitness levels were not good enough and we will have to work on that,” he said.

Palmgren attended Saturday’s NPL match between Black Africa and African Stars and said the standard was good although the fitness levels were not up to standard.

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has postponed this week's three-nation tournament in Monrovia that includes Ghana.

The local Black Stars were scheduled to play Guinea and the host nation from 24-26 May.

However, the LFA wrote to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Tuesday afternoon informing the GFA of the decision by the country’s government to postpone the tournament to next month.

"This tournament is governmental and that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed us of the change for which we have decided to have same communicated to you at this time,” the letter from the LFA read.

PictureKolo Toure
Liverpool will move for Manchester City defender Kolo Toure on a free transfer once his contract expires in June.

With Jamie Carragher having retired, Liverpool are looking to sign two centre backs and Schalke's Kyriakos Papadopoulos is a leading target.

Toure is in the United States as part of City's post-season tour but the proposed move to Anfield is likely to progress quickly once he returns.

The 32-year-old joined City from Arsenal in July 2009 for £14m.

The expected signing of the Ivory Coast international goes against the Liverpool owners' preference for buying youth and he would be the first player over the age of 24 that Brendan Rodgers has signed since taking charge at Anfield.

Uganda have appointed Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic as their new coach.

The 43-year-old fills the post that has been vacant since Bobby Williamson's contract was terminated in April and he has signed a two-year deal with the Cranes.

Micho, who was sacked by Rwanda last month, said he was happy to be back in the country where he had his first coaching job in Africa.

He told BBC Sport: "My African dream started in 2001 in Uganda with SC Villa and I spent three years there. In the last nine years I have coached in Ethiopia, Sudan, South Africa, Tanzania and Rwanda. Now I have come back to my football home.

Injuries to Victor Moses and Kalu Uche have left Nigeria short of attackers for June's World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup in Brazil.

The pair's withdrawal from the squad deepens problems for coach Stephen Keshi, who was already without Nations Cup joint-top scorer Emmanuel Emenike.

Keshi said: "It's unfortunate that they informed us when we have already finalised our provisional squad.

"It is now too late to start calling up replacement players."

English Premier League side Chelsea informed Nigeria that Moses requires treatment for a recurring injury, while Kalu Uche said he has played with an injury throughout the season in Turkey and, on the advice of his doctor, will be using the off-season to undergo treatment.

Ghana striker Mahatma Otoo signed a one-year extension with Hearts of Oak on Monday ending fears of him leaving on a free transfer.

The 21-year-old, who has been subject of massive interest from clubs in both at home and abroad, sealed the deal at a crunch meeting.

The Ghana league's leading scorer's current contract with Hearts runs out in August and could have left for free but he signed to stay with the former African champions.

The new deal leaves Otoo with the Phobians until August 2014.

Despite reported interest from clubs like Belgian giants Anderlecht, Portuguese side Benfica and Sunderland of England, the striker opted to commit to the Phobians.
