AFRICAN U-20 CHAMPIONSHIP

The CAF African Youth Championship (sometimes referred to as the CAF U20 African Championship)
is the main international football competition for CAF nations, played
by under 20 years old players. It is held every two years with the top 4
teams qualifying for the FIFA World Youth Championship.
The African representatives were determined purely on a home & away qualifying basis without African combined tournament; since 1979 until 1989 the African champions were determined through the same qualification; since 1991 there has been a qualifying stages followed by a final tournament played by 8 teams in a chosen country. |
