An ankle injury has sidelined AC Milan midfielder Rodney Strasser for two to three months, according to the club.

The 22-year-old Sierra Leone international fractured his ankle during a morning training session at the Milanello on Saturday.

Strasser spent last season on loan to Lecce and was set to be a part of the first-team squad under Massimiliano Allegri before this setback.

He becomes Milan's second African long-term injury casualty after Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari injured his knee in Accra last month.

Muntari may be out for up to six months.
