Zambia striker Rodgers Kola has made an 800,000 Euros move from Israeli side Ashdod to Gent of Belgium.

Kola's agent Nir Karin told MTNFootball.com that the striker has signed a five-year deal with the Belgian club.

"I'm happy for Kola and Zambia football. Kola deserves it and he proves hard work pays," Karin said.

KAA Gent finished third in the Belgian top flight this season and will feature in next season’s UEFA Europa League.

Kola’s transfer comes after two seasons in Israel where he first played for Hapoel Rishon scoring 11 goals in 30 games in the 2010/2011 season, before moving to Ashdod where he scored seven goals in 32 games.

He also featured for Golden arrows in the South African Premier Soccer League.

The 22-year-old striker missed the 2012 Africa Cup when Zambia coach Herve Renard dropped the Canada 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup star after failing to beat the January 7 deadline to join the team for pre-tournament camp in South Africa.
