Nigeria’s Obinna Obiefule is now just two goals away from setting a new all-time goals record in Malta after a four-goal blitz Friday night.

Obiefule was the hero as he led Mosta FC to a 5-0 bashing of Marsaxlokk.

Danilo Doncic holds the record with 32 goals and Obiefule is now in a position to shatter the record.

"I am fulfilled with this achievement. It was a great night for me. I thank my mate for their support,” the younger brother of former Eagles star Paul Obiefule told MTNFootball.com

“Now that I have passed the 30-goal target, I believe I can go all the way to score two more goals and rewrite history in Malta.

“I also hope the Eagles coach will give me chance to come and prove myself in the national team.”

Obiefule opened his goals rush in the 20th minute with a superb solo effort two minutes after he hit the upright.

He got his second goal in the 47th minute and two minutes later, the Nigerian goal poacher made it 3-0 for Mosta FC.

In the 49th minute, Obiefule rounded the opposing goalkeeper before he slotted the ball home to reach his 30-goal target.

However, he was not done yet as he scored his final goal of the night in the 53rd minute with another solo effort.
