Four years ago, Ghana eliminated Nigeria U23s from the All Africa Games on the away goals rule when they drew 1-1 in Abuja after they had been held to a goalless draw in the first leg.
However, Nigeria led by coach Samson Siasia got their pound of flesh soon after when they sent pack packing the Black Meteors from the 2008 Bejing Olympics.
Nigeria are still very much in the running for next year’s Olympics, while Ghana were shocked out by unfancied Sudan meaning the face saver for the U23s is a place at the All Africa Games in Mozambique.
