Turkish outfit Trabzonspor have swooped to land holding midfielder Didier Zokora from La Liga side Sevilla for a reputed fee of €5 million, with the Ivory Coast international signing a four-year deal.

Trabzon only just missed out on the Turkish Super Lig title this campaign and are determined to strengthen their squad in order to fight for top spot again in 2011-12.

Head coach Senol Gunes has now secured the midfield reinforcement he was looking for with the signing of Zokora.

The 30-year-old started his professional career with Genk and also wore the jerseys of Saint-Etienne and Tottenham Hotspur before joining Sevilla in the summer of 2009.

Zokora quickly became an important first team player at the Spanish side, but had lost his starting berth in recent months, and has decided to try and relaunch his career at Trabzonspor.
