Four African stars were in action for Sevilla on Saturday night as they were given a 6:2 hiding in front of their home fans by a rampant Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo netted four times for Los Blancos with Sergio Ramos and Brazil star Kaka completing the rout.

Cote d'Ivoire midfielders Romaric - who set up his side's first goal -and Didier Zokora, as well as former Mali striker Frederic Kanoute, started for the Andalucians and were joined by Senegal defender Mouhamadou Dabo after just 12 minutes.

Meanwhile Emmanuel Adebayor joined the action in the 56th minute for Real who closed the gap on leaders Barcelona to five points with three games to go.

Barcelona, who have a game in hand, will look to respond when they take on Espanyol in a Catalan derby today.

Mali star Seydou Keita is expected to play a role for Barcelona in the game. The 31-year-old has made 32 league appearances for the Blaugrana this season and scored two goals.

Meanwhile no African was on target in Spain in Saturday's matches.
