Live Commentary

NIGERIA 2 - 3 TOGO

0' - Teams are on the pitch, preliminaries are over and we'd kick off in a moment. Crowd in full voice. Nigeria in all-green jersey and Togo in Yellow on Red. The Hawks to kick ff.

1' - And off we go

3' - GOAL! Togo lead Nigeria 1:0 as Atakora Lalawele glances a ball pass Sunday Rotimi from a corner kick.

8' - The Togolese already with three corner kicks, they are strutting their stuff nicely at the moment. That was Lalawele's third strike in two games - a terrific talent.

15' - The Super Eagles getting into the game better. They are beginning to dominate possession, but the Togolese are breaking up all their moves nicely in the final third - the goalkeeper is still untroubled.

18' - Chances for the Super Eagles. Uzoenyi curls one in from the near side and the goalkeeper clears to Ibenegbu who tries to chip him again but the ball is punched clear to Uzoenyi who is fouled.

20' - The corner is well defended.

22' - GOAL!! Togo beat the offside trap, and Lalawele squares to Wome Dove who slots past Rotimi. 2:0 Togo.

24' - On balance you would have to say the win is deserved, the Hawks have been the better side, and Lalawele has been super.

26' - GOAL! Bartholomew Ibenegbu pulls one back for the Super Eagles. Game on! A sweeping move forward by Nigeria and Ehiosun is played through. He clatters into a defender in the box and Ibenegbu fires home the loose ball. Thrilling stuff here.

31' - Miss as Uzoenyi goes really close. That should have been two all, but he misses a gaping net from six yards, but he had his behind on the turf when he did that. The Super Eagles now fully on Nigeria's side.

33' - RED CARD to Gege Toriola for the dumbest tackle you probably ever saw at this level. Toriola - the player who bundled a man to the ground to give Ghana a penalty, but mysteriously stayed on, has no such luck this time as he places his studs on the lower back of the Togolese around the centre circle - a needless foul, but a clear red card.

36' - Ehiosun goes closes with a free header, but he misses the target - that was so so close!

41' - Miss again - Ehiosun is alone in front of goal but misses a connection as Uzoenyi's whipped cross scorches past.

42' - The Super Eagles are still dominating play even with ten men, but the Togolese appear to want this lead kept at the break. Of Toriola, don't be surprised not to see him in an Eagles shirt any time soon

45' - PENALTY to Nigeria. Ehiosun brought down in the box. Stupid defending though, Ehiosun was going nowhere.

45' - GOAL! Ibenegbu scores his fourth goal of the tournament and Nigeria are level 2:2. What a match.

45' + 2 - GOAL!!! Lalawele scores again and Nigeria are back in jail! That would go down as a howler by Rotimi. Lalawele probably was attempting a cross in from the nearside but the ball swings into the near corner and Rotimi helps it in. It is that dangerman Lalawele again with his fourth goal of the tournament. This is the beautiful game on here - brilliant stuff from both teams.

HALF TIME.

46' - Second Half: Game on

47' - Nigeria looking the likelier to score as they bear down on the Hawks despite playing with a numerical disadvantage.

57' - RED CARD to Togo defender Sadate Ouro-Akoriko who gets a second yellow card for bringing down Ehiosun. Both sides now down to 10 men. The Togolese are furious, but it was a needless tackle by the Togolese defender.

65' - Agwoucha White has entered for Ibenegbu.

66' - End-to-end stuff as Nigeria win a free kick in a dangerous position but Stanley Okoronkwo's shot is deflected for a corner. A short one is taken, Uzoenyi weaves his way into a good position in the area, but his shot has too much pace as Ehiosun's connection goes over the bar from inside yard box! WHAT A MISS THAT WAS!

78' - It's still punch-for-punch here by the Togolese are hanging on so far. Togo on the verge of their first ever continental crown.

82' - Big miss! The Togolese catch Nigeria on the break, beating the offside trap. With three men to beat the goalkeeper the striker selfishly goes for goal himself and the weak shot is saved. All he needed was a simple pass and any of his men would have knocked it in! Pathetic stuff. There have been too many selfish cases like those leading to too many elementary misses in this tournament

87' - Half chance for Nigeria, but Ehiosun's header goes wide.

90' - We are into injury time and the Super Eagles are pressing hard for the equaliser, but the Togolese are stoic in defending.

90' + 2 - BIG MISS FOR NIGERIA! Oooooouuuuuh! Ehiosun with a free header, and he hits the post with the Togo goalie in Lah Lah Land.

GAME OVER - Nigeria 2:3 Togo

Togo are champions!

GHANA 1 - 3 LIBERIA

First Half

Liberia lead Ghana by two goals. Samuel Thompson drew first bolood early on before Patrick Wleh made it 2:0 midway in the first half.

The Black Stars have been dominant and have created a lot of chances, but have been completely wasteful.

Emmanuel Baffour incredulously missed two gilt-edge opportunities to pull Ghana level after Thompson's goal, including failing to connect with a cross inside the six-yard box. He was hurled off immediately by an angry coach David Duncan after just 18 minutes and was replaced by Yakubu Mohammed.

On 32 minutes, Ghana again blew a glorious opportunity as Sadick Adams missed from 7 yards with the goalkeeper clearly beaten and a gaping net at his mercy. Duncan had had enough, and yanked off the Etoile du Sahel player immediately for Joseph Otto.

It's now half time with Liberia two goals up in total contrast to the order of play.

Second Half

Samuel Thompson has increased the Lone Stars lead to 3:0 after a superb header in the 54th minute. The Nigerian fans are fully behind the Liberians at this point.

A penalty by Bright Nsiah in the 82nd minute gave Ghana a consolation goal.
