Obiefule picks up his Goal King award
Malta record-breaking Goal King Obinna Obiefule has revealed he is set to move to Israel or China for the coming season.

Israeli club Maccabi Haifa and Guangdong Sunraycave FC of China are now locked in talks with the prolific striker’s agent.

Obiefule, who set a new goals record in Malta history last season when he scored 34 goals for Mosta, said both teams are keen on having him and that talks are in top gear and in a few days his next destination will be known.

"Discussions will soon be finalised. Talks are almost concluded with the teams that have shown seriousness about having me. Guangdong Sunraycave, China and Maccabi Haifa, Israel are talking with my agent, and it has reached an advance stage,” Obiefule told MTNFootball.com

The most prolific Nigerian striker in Europe this season Obinna Obiefule has set a new goal-scoring record of 34 goals in Malta.

Obiefule fired a hat-trick Friday in a 4-1 demolition of Qormi in the Malta premier league playoff to power Mosta FC to safety and catapult his exploits into the history books.

The previous all-time record was held by Danilo Doncic with 32 goals.

"It’s great that I have made it finally. This is the biggest achievement of my career,” an excited Obiefule told MTNFootball.com

Obiefule's hat-trick equally helped Mosta stay put in the BOV Premier League next season and he was named the man of the match.

Nigeria’s Obinna Obiefule is now just two goals away from setting a new all-time goals record in Malta after a four-goal blitz Friday night.

Obiefule was the hero as he led Mosta FC to a 5-0 bashing of Marsaxlokk.

Danilo Doncic holds the record with 32 goals and Obiefule is now in a position to shatter the record.

"I am fulfilled with this achievement. It was a great night for me. I thank my mate for their support,” the younger brother of former Eagles star Paul Obiefule told MTNFootball.com

“Now that I have passed the 30-goal target, I believe I can go all the way to score two more goals and rewrite history in Malta.

On-form Nigeria striker Polycarp Obinna Obiefule has revealed that his main target in the Maltese Premier League this season is to be crowned the goal king.
   
The Mosta FF forward hit his number 19th goal Tuesday from the spot against his former team Hamrun Spartans in a 2-2 draw after passing a late fitness test.
   
The Owerri-born star said he is happy whenever he hits target.
   
“I am very happy with my form, scoring goals excite me and when it happened against my former club like it was against Hamrun, it is a special feeling because I see myself making my fans at my former team happy,” he told MTNFootball.com

_Mosta FC of Malta new signing Obinna Obiefule has said his confidence has been boosted by his brace of goals in a 2-2 draw at Hamrun Spartans over the weekend.

The younger brother of Paul Obiefule netted in 15th and 66th minutes to give his team a 2-1 lead, before the home team restored parity in 88th minute.

 “I am happy that I have started on a bright note with Mosta. I always love to score against my former teams and when I scored against Hamrun, I was excited,” Obiefule told MTNFootball.com

“This is the beginning for Mosta. I will do my best to score many goals. I want to help the team remain in top flight and fight for a slot to play in Europe next season.”
