The 2012/13 Tanzania Vodacom Premier League (VPL) campaign will kick off on September 1, with Simba SC the defending Champions. While, the Tanzania Division One League (FDL) will be on fire on September 15. The full fixtures will be announced on July 23.
Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Spokesman, Boniface Wambura insists that Discipline and Honor should be widely maintained by each club in this Transfer window, which is set to be closed on August 10 - after the transfer window period being extended.
“There won't be another period of registration of players for all clubs in the country until then, when the small window opened in November” said Mr. Wambura
Stewart Hall’s Azam fc continue to put the pressure on league leaders Simba, as they came out with another dramatic 3-1 victory against relegation threatened Toto African yesterday at Chamazi stadium.
An early goal scored by Ivorian Kipre Tchetche in 10th minute, opened the scoreline for homeside Azam fc thanks to a well fed cross by Mrisho Ngassa, later on their lead was doubled by his brother Kipre Bolou in the 19th minute resulting from a good build up with John Bocco. Toto African’s defence was ripped off as John Bocco scored his team’s third goal of the game just before the half time break (33rd minute).
