Madinda Ndlovu
Zimbabwean legend Madinda Ndlovu knows better than most how football can deliver highs and lows.

Last December his brother Adam died in a road traffic accident when he was travelling for a match pitting Highlanders legends against a Victoria Falls team.

Ndlovu revealed he still tries to communicate with Adam in spirit and perhaps it was in part his sense that his brother is still there for him that has helped Ndlovu steer Mochudi Centre Chiefs to the Botswana league title in his first year in charge.

"Adam's death is a great loss, I think he would have made a very good coach," Ndlovu told BBC Sport.

The two North African sides will meet on Friday to decided first and second in Group A while Botswana and Gabon will play each other for pride before heading home.

A brace from inform striker Bnou Marzouk in each half sent the Baby Zebras of Botswana packing and the host celebrating achieving their target a qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup as set out by coach Abdellah Idrissi.

Morocco were the better side throughout the match controlling the pace and tempo of the game. Early pressure on Kgosipula’s goal foretold a bust night for the Zebras’ keeper as captain Jaadi went close on 4 and 7th minutes.

In the second match of the day in Group A it was almost a similar story with Tunisia establishing dominance just like Morocco in their game against Botswana.

The Tunisians’ technical mastery was tested against the athleticism of the Young Zebras of Botswana. According to Abdelay Ben Soltane, the coach of the Carthage Eaglets “I expected a physical game with their direct play, their fighting spirit, their physical condition”. Soltane was pleased with the way his charges played in particular how they started.

It took the Eaglets mere 30 seconds to be on the score sheet through Mohamed Ben Larbi  and the same player converted a penalty three minutes later to make it 2-0.

Congo Brazzaville football club AC Leopards demonstrated remarkable fighting spirit at the weekend to snatch a place among the last 16 of the CAF Champions League.

Written off after a 4-1 drubbing from Kano Pillars in Nigeria three weeks ago, Leopards scored deep into stoppage time at home to triumph 3-0 and squeeze through on the away-goal rule.

The encounter began with both sides feeling themselves out until the 30th minute when a glaring offside scored by Arouna Drame Bine was allowed by the centre referee from Ivory Coast, Doue Noumadiez.

Several of the favourites in Africa’s qualifiers for the 2014 Fifa World Cup Brazil struggled on the third matchday of the group stage, now at the half-way point.

Morocco's loss in Tanzania was the biggest surprise, while 2012 African champions Zambia were held to a draw in Lesotho and Senegal and new African kings Nigeria were held at home. As only the ten group winners advance to the final round of qualifying, the dropped points will undoubtedly increase the pressure and the chances of a major shock moving forward.

The Super Eagles were expected to enjoy a bit of a walk in the park at home against their East African opponents, however, it turned out to be anything but as 20-year-old Kahata gave the visitors the lead when he scored direct from a free-kick.
