Boubacar Barry injured
Ivory Coast goalkeeper Copa Barry was discharged from a Belgian hospital on Tuesday after he was rushed there from a stadium during the weekend’s league match between his side Lokeren and FC Bruges.

The 33-year-old crashed against one of his posts while trying to save a ball and lost consciousness for several minutes before being evacuated to the nearest hospital.

A medical report said Copa suffered a brief concussion but was now doing fine. However, he would stay off the pitch for at least a week, the club’s medical staff said.

Copa is Ivory Coast first choice goalkeeper and the news sent shock waves across the West African nation last weekend, as the Elephants gear up for their trip to Gambia in the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifying.

Felix Annan
Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan has left Ghana to begin a trial session with Belgian side Club Brugge.

The 18-year-old left the shores of Ghana on Tuesday to begin the two-week trial with the Blue-Blacks.

Annan obtained permission from Kotoko in order to take the trials in Belgium.

The ex Fetteh Feyenoord goalkeeper has played only two games this term for the Ghana Premier League champions.

He is down the perking order at Kotoko – behind Soulama Abdoulaye and Isaac Amoako.

Daylon Claasen
Bafana Bafana midfielder Daylon Claasen has started a trial period with English Premiership Everton on Monday.

Claasen last week abruptly ended his contract at Belgian club Lierse in an unusual effort to find himself a bigger club for next season.

Recently recalled to the national squad, the 23-year-old is hoping to impress at the premier league club after three seasons with the struggling Belgian club.

He has forsaken several months salary on the rest of his contract after refusing to sign an extension to his current deal.

Victor Anichebe (R)
Nigeria striker Victor Anichebe netted his sixth goal of the season for Everton to seal a 2:0 win over relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers in the English Premier League on Saturday.

The 24-year-old, who has been shut out of the Super Eagles in recent games, turned a loose ball home in the 56th minute to atone for a huge miss just minutes earlier when he hit the post from close range with just the goalkeeper to beat.

In the Ukraine, AFCON star Ideye Brown finally broke his seven-game barren run (five in the league) when he scored the only goal of the game to help his team Dinamo Kiev beat hosts Karpaty 1:0 today.

Ibrahim Ayew
Ghana midfielder Abdul Rahim Ayew insists the decision not to renew his contract at SK Lierse was mutual.

The Belgian club had announced the Ghana international's contract will not be renewed when it expires this summer.

But the eldest son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele says the decision to part ways with Lierse in June was arrived at by both parties.

"I had an extensive discussion with officials of the club and we concluded it was time to move on," the 25-year-old told MTNFootball.com.

"I have played here for two and a half years now and I think I need a fresh challenge elsewhere in Europe.

Ibrahim Ayew
Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Ayew will be released by SK Lierse at the end of the current campaign, the Belgian club has announced.

The 24-year-old alongside two others; Hussien Yasser and Moroccan winger Soufiane Bidaoui will not have their contracts renewed when they run out at the end of the season.

"Ibrahim Ayew, Hussein Yasser and Soufiane Bidaoui will no longer play a part at Lierse,” the club has announced.

“Contracts of these three players that will expire this season will not be renewed, so they no longer qualify for the squad.”

Benjamin Moukandjo
Pierre Aubameyang was on target for the 18th time in Ligue 1 - and remains the second top scorer in the league - after equalising in the 65th minute for Saint Etienne. Thanks to the Gabon striker's effort his side drew 2-2 away at Rennes.

Benjamin Moukandjo fired home his third for struggling Nancy who lost 2-1 at league leaders Paris Saint-Germain. The Cameroon striker had given the visitors the lead in the 36th minute but Nancy succumbed to two goals in the second-half.

Cape Verde striker Odair Fortes gave Reims some hope of getting an equaliser with his 77th minute goal, but an 88th minute substitution paid off for Troyes who sealed the points in added time. It was the Guinea striker Mohamed Yattara's second goal for Troyes.

Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng scored AC Milan's second goal of the game as they outclassed Lazio 3-0 to stay third in the Italian Serie A table.

Fellow Ghanaian Isaac Cofie also netted for Chievo after coming on as a first-half substitute. It was Cofie's first goal for Chievo but despite his equaliser his side lost 2-1 to Fiorentina.

SPAIN

Michael Essien played the entire 90 minutes in arguably the biggest game in international club football as his side Real Madrid edged out arch-rivals Barcelona 2-1. Despite the victory - the second in a row against league leaders Barcelona in only a few days - Madrid lie in third position and 13 points behind their rivals.

Gedo
Egypt star Gedo scored the only goal of the match for Hull City in a 1:0 victory over Charlton in the English Championship on Saturday.

It was the first start for the on-loan striker, who joined Hull in the winter transfer window from Cairo side Al Ahli.

Gedo's goal - his second in as many games for Hull - came in the 33rd minute after he was set up by Irish midfielder Robbie Brady.

Egypt team-mates Ahmed Elmohamady and Ahmed Fathi, both defenders, also featured for the Tigers. Elmo played the entire game, while Fathi, also on loan to Hull from Ahli until the end of the season, made his debut when he joined the action in the 57th minute.

Mouhamadou Habib Habibou
Leeds United have completed the loan signing of Mouhamadou Habib Habibou from Belgian side SV Zulte Waregem.

The departure of Luciano Becchio earlier in the day had left the Yorkshire club needing a striker, and Neil Warnock has opted for the Central African Republic international.

He will move to Elland Road until the end of the season after impressing during a recent trial.

The 25-year-old has also been on trial at Queens Park Rangers, but Leeds have stepped in after Harry Redknapp chose to sign Loic Remy.

Warnock told the club's official website: "He's a player we've had across for a few days and we liked what we saw.
