Morocco lift the trophy
Libya failed at the last hurdle in the 9th Arab nations Cup in Saudi Arabia, losing out to Morocco in the final at the end of a penalty-shooting contest by 1-3 after the two teams were deadlocked in a 1-1 draw at the end of a keenly contested match at the Prince Abdullah al-Faisal Stadium

Morocco thus become the fifth winners of the title in the almost 50 years history of the competition joining Tunisia, Iraq (four times), Egypt and Saudi Arabia (two times) as winners.

It was heart-breaking for Libya to reach this far but then to lose this way. But that is football and penalty-taking is also part of the game.
