Maxwell Konadu
The house of Ghana assistant coach Maxwell Konadu was burgled over the weekend while away on international duty.

The thieves ransacked his Kumasi residence at Atasomanso and made away with valuable items including television sets  and jewelleries.

Konadu is in Ethiopia to inspect the training facilities available for use by the Black Stars if they decide to camp in the East African country for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

"I was told about the unfortunate incident when I went to the stadium to watch our game against Berekum Arsenal," Alhaji Abu Lamine, a Kotoko board member, told local radio station Peace FM.

After qualifying for their second Africa Cup of Nations finals, Niger have picked Senegal for a preparatory friendly match slated for November 14 in Niamey.

The football federation says the Mena will endeavour to shape up the set up and fix errors from their first participation early this year in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Senegalese officials say the match will serve as a test and baptism of fire for newly appointed caretaker coach Mayacine Mar, who replaced dismissed Joseph Koto.

The Teranga Lions’ next outing will be against Angola in March 2013 during the third round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Kagisho Dikgacoi
Life in England has certainly not been an easy ride for South African midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi.

Signed by Fulham in 2009, Dikgacoi eventually moved to Championship side Crystal Palace after making just seven Premier League starts.

He then endured a difficult debut season at Selhurst Park that was marred by a succession of injuries.

The 27-year-old from Free State was also publicly criticised by his then manager Dougie Freedman.

It was a harsh welcome to English football.

Anthony Laffor
Anthony Laffor has frozen his international career and is demanding that the Liberia Football Association first issue a public apology for tarnishing his reputation before he returns to the Lone Stars.

The Mamelodi Sundowns striker accuses the LFA of irresponsibly butchering him in public after he pulled out of a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in June due to injury and fatigue.

The 27-year-old relates his ordeal to KickOff.com for the first after missing out the recent qualifier against Nigeria, which Liberia lost 8-3 on aggregate.

“For now I want to concentrate on my club football and I will not go back to the national team until they meet that condition of going back to the media again to apologise,” Laffor tells KickOff.com.

Malawi's national team will soon have a new home in the capital, Lilongwe.

This follows the government's decision to become the latest footprint of China's so-called stadium diplomacy.

The Chinese have signed an agreement to build a new state-of-the-art national stadium at an estimated cost of US$70m.

Under the terms of the agreement - signed by Malawi Finance Minister Ken Lipenga and Chinese Ambassador Pan Hejun on Tuesday - the Asian nation will provide a concessional loan to be repaid in 20 years.

Jean Makoun
Cameroon coach Jean-Paul Akono has announced his list of 24 players who will meet Albania in a friendly on 14 November in Geneva.

And what is clear from his announcement is that the elimination of the Indomitable Lions by Cape Verde from the Africa Cup of Nations 2013 has led to some victims falling along the wayside.

Thus, defenders Pierre Womé and Aurélien Chedjou did not make the cut. This is not particularly surprising in the case of the Lille player, who reproached his coach for having claimed he was suffering an injury when the team hosted the Blue Sharks.

Out go midfielders Modeste Mbami, Junior Olle Olle and Willie Overtoom, as well as striker Idrissou Mohamadou.

Marouane Chamakh
Morocco striker Marouane Chamakh scored twice in extra time for Arsenal as they mounted a monumental comeback to beat hosts Reading in a 12-goal thriller in the English League Cup on Tuesday.

Chamakh, who is yet to pin down a regular place in the Gunners first team, played all 120 minutes as they came from 4:0 down after just 37 minutes to win the tie 7:5 at the death.

England forward Theo Walcott scored a crucial hat-trick, each goal coming in the final minutes of the first half, second half and extra time, and all changing the course of the game.

Walcott's first gave the visitors hope at the break, while his second ensured the game extended into extra time at 4:4. Chamakh then scored his first to give the visitors the lead for the first time, but Reading equalised with four minutes to a penalty shootout.

COSAFA chief operations officer Sue Destombes said in a statement that the decision was taken due to operational reasons.
