Goals from Queens Park Rangers' African duo Adel Taarabt and Samba Diakite ended Arsenal's six-game winning streak in the English Premier League.

The goals helped the relegation strugglers to a 2:1 win over the visiting Gunners.

Morocco star Adel Taarabt scored his first goal of the season to give QPR the lead after 22 minutes when he turned Thomas Vermaelen on the edge of the penalty area - after receiving a pass at the halfway line - before striking to the bottom corner.

Theo Walcott equalised for Arsenal fifteen minutes later, but on-loan Samba Diakite, 23, made sure of the points when he dispatched a Jamie Mackie cutback in the 66 minute.

Spanish side Rayo Vallecano have offered Nigeria winger Sone Aluko a monthly salary of 70,000 Euros to dump Glasgow Rangers in the summer.

Vallecano are one of several European clubs who have been impressed with Aluko since he teamed up with Scottish giants Rangers late last year.

The Madrid club, who returned to the Spanish top flight this season after they finished as runners-up in the lower division, are 12th in the La Liga with 37 points.

“They want the player very badly and are willing to pay him 70,000 Euros a month to join them in the summer,” a top source informed MTNFootball.com

The 2012 Africa Cup Nations finalists Cote D’Ivoire will play a friendly match against Senegal on May 26 in France meant to prep both sides for the upcoming 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifying.

A meeting between the West African teams was cancelled early November 2011 following logistical problems.

Elephants coach Francois Zahoui, whose two-year contract expires on Saturday, may not lead the team to the Paris rendezvous. The Ivorian FA is yet to clarify whether it will extend the former Cote D’Ivoire international’s deal or employ a new coach.

Injured Nigeria Premier League (NPL) top scorer, Mustapha Babadidi, has ruled himself out of next month's international friendly against Egypt in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The Gombe United forward got his first Super Eagles invitation for the match against Egypt, but is unavailable after a collision with Enugu Rangers' goalkeeper, Godwin Anyalogu during the rescheduled NPL Matchday 3 tie, on March 21, left him injured.

Babadidi, who was unable to continue on matchday is receiving treatment in Gombe.

The striker has missed Gombe United's last two games against Kano Pillars and Warri Wolves on March 25 and 29 respectively.

Fifa's executive committee says that South Sudan could join football's world governing body later this year.

The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) had been told the earliest it could become a Fifa member was 2014.

But if a proposed amendment to Fifa's statutes is adopted by its congress in Hungary in May the SSFA could be admitted at the same time.

The SSFA was admitted to the Confederation of African Football at its congress in February.

The country, which was declared independent from Sudan last year, became the 54th member of Caf but were told they would have to wait two years before it can fully compete in all competitions.

Tom Saintfiet tells BBC Sport he is confident he is the 'right man' to help put Nigerian football back on track.

On Wednesday the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) gave the Belgian a four-year contract as the country's technical director.

"It doesn't matter where you worked before, it doesn't matter the age or the rich CV you have, " he said.

"It's the quality you have and the determination and the way you want to work together and the knowledge."

And the 39-year-old was quick to outline his role and ambitions as he returns to Africa after previous spells in The Gambia, Namibia and Ethiopia.

Swedish giants AIK Stockholm have loaned out striker Kwame Amponsah-Karikari to second-tier side Degerfors for three months, MTNFootball.com can confirm.

Degerfors wanted an outright purchase of the 20-year-old to help boost their promotion to the top flight but AIK agreed to release the 6ft 3in forward for three months.

AIK expect Karikari to return in top shape and help their championship aspirations in June.

Karikari told MTNFootball.com the move will help his progress.

"The deal is sealed and I will move to join my new club on Monday. I will return in top shape and club AIK in the title chase," the former Ghana youth international said.

NPL hotshot Mustapha Babadidi has been called up by Nigeria for a friendly match against Egypt next month.

Gombe United teenaged striker, who claims to have scored 10 goals this season as against the nine credited to him, is one of 26 players from the domestic league invited for an April 12 clash with Egypt in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Babadidi, whose goals this season have already earned him an invitation to the country’s U17 team, is one of 10 new invitees.

The other new invitees are Gbolahan Salami, Nura Mohammed (Enyimba), Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi (Heartland), Ahmed Adesope (3SC), Shehu Maija’ma (Wikki Tourists), Uzochukwu Ogonna (Enugu Rangers), Lawal Mohammed (Ranch Bees), Jabason Solomon (Akwa United)  as well as Hassan Hussein (Dolphin).

Less than a week after declining an invitation from Cote D’Ivoire, Cameroon FA announced on Thursday it had concluded arrangements with Guinea for an international friendly scheduled for May 27 in France ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifying.

The team’s press officer Linus Pascal Fouda said the Indomitable Lions would begin a one-week training camp in France starting May 21 and that coach Denis Lavagne would soon release the list of players coming to the workshop.

Pitted in Group I against Libya, Togo and DR Congo, Cameroon will take on the Leopards on June 1 at home in Yaoundé before travelling to Tunis on June 5 to prepare for their faceoff against Libya slated for June 8 in Tripoli.

Former Bafana Bafana skipper Aaron Mokoena is bring frustrated in his bid to help Portsmouth avoid relegation from the English Championship.

Mokoena has missed the last four games with an ankle injury and his recovery time is uncertain, though he definitely will miss the weekend visit of Burnley.

With Pompey having entered into administration, they were handed a 10-point penalty by the Football League and as such are now second-bottom of the table, three points from safety with seven games to play.

But whether Mokoena will feature in those remaining games is uncertain at this stage.
